This past week my son and I joined up with a few other fathers and sons to hike a portion of the Appalachian Trail over the course of 4 days. Two years ago we did something similar, but had great weather. This time we weren’t so lucky. But we all made it and we had a great time.
Here are some pictures from the trip:

Here’s where we hiked:
Day 1
Day 2
Day 2 we had to take a detour since the trail still hasn’t been fully cleared from Hurricane Helene. Day 2 it down poured on us, leaving us drenched and scrambling down steep slopes in the mud.
Day 3
Day 3 was meant to be a 12 mile day, but we skipped ahead 4 miles to give ourselves a break and try to let our gear dry from the previous day.
Day 4
Day 4 was a light 4.7 miles to the pick up spot.
